Therapy is a space to explore, get curious, unpack, gain understanding, and develop more compassion for self and others. Therapy supports healing, growth, change, and acceptance because it equips you with the tools, awareness, and insight to deal with the dynamic nature of life.
Everyone can benefit from therapy because it is time dedicated to getting to know yourself better and a space where all of you can be fully seen. Whether you are re-experiencing painful moments, seeking help for a specific reason, or going through a significant life transition, therapy can deepen your connection to your Self.
In simplest terms, the goal of therapy is for you to feel better about yourself by becoming aware of your own internal landscape and being able to continually return to yourself, regardless of external circumstances. This includes understanding how what happened to you is impacting you in the present moment and strengthening the mind-body connection. Through compassion, acceptance, connection, curiosity, courage, and love, you can find your way back home to you.
Internal family systems (IFS) is an evidence-based model of psychotherapy. IFS focuses on the various parts, including the Self, that exists within all individuals. IFS focuses on the internal landscape of clients, viewing the parts and Self as part of your inner family. At the heart of IFS is the understanding that there are no bad parts and each part has a positive intention. When clients begin to understand the positive intention behind each part and get to know each part, they develop the capacity for more compassion, clarity and courage to uncover more about specific parts.
