The gift of therapy is for you to get you

Educators

I have worked in international schools in China, South Korea, Hong Kong, Saudi Arabia and Malawi. I have also worked at two universities in Saudi Arabia. Currently, I am the secondary school counsellor at an international school in Malawi and I love my job and the amazing students and teachers I get to support. Being an educator is both rewarding and challenging. I am left with a sense of awe for the passion and drive educators continue to have when facing difficult and uncertain times, a never-ending list of demands, and continual shifting of job roles. I am also aware that many educators face challenges related to burnout, trying to do it all, finding difficulties managing personal and professional life, and questions about how to evolve and grow.

The Internal Family Systems (IFS) model can benefit all educators by understanding how their different parts show up and ultimately impact their work with others and students. When educators show up from a place of compassion, curiosity, courage, confidence, and calm, all school community members will experience the ripple effect of Self. The state of our educators directly impacts our student’s wellbeing and learning, thus why our educators need to have the tools and space to reflect, get curious, and unpack what is going on for them in their internal worlds.

I offer all educators a 20% discount off my hourly rate of $100 CAD. The reason I do this is that I too well understand the demands of the education system on our educators. I want educators to prioritize their wellbeing and mental health. I want educators to put themselves first and dedicate time and space to getting to know themselves better. When our educators can remain in Self-energy and return to Self more consistently, they can show up for our children better.
